Is your child ready for an adventure that actually teaches them something? Dragon Academy’s Spanish Adventure RPG is a fully structured 12-week Spanish learning program built around the most powerful motivation tool we know — a really great story.

This isn’t just a fun class with some Spanish sprinkled in. This is a complete A1.1 Spanish curriculum combining weekly video lessons, student worksheets, and a live D&D adventure session — designed so that by the end of Semester 1 your child has genuinely progressed from total beginner to A1.1 proficiency in Spanish. That’s a meaningful, measurable result that carries directly into middle school and high school Spanish classes.

How It Works

Before each session your child watches a short pre-recorded video lesson introducing that week’s Spanish vocabulary theme. Then they complete their Dragon Academy Student Workbook — four pages of fantasy-themed exercises, puzzles and creative activities that make the vocabulary stick before the live session even begins.

On session day your child joins their small group of fellow adventurers for a live 85-minute online D&D campaign guided by a native Spanish-speaking Dungeon Master. Every monster encounter, every NPC conversation, every decision the party makes is an opportunity to use the Spanish they studied that week. Get the vocabulary right and roll with a bonus. The language isn’t a side activity — it’s the magic system.

The 12-Week Semester

Semester 1 follows one continuous epic campaign. Students arrive in the mountain town of Ankala, receive a mysterious quest, and spend the semester battling goblins, crossing frozen lakes, navigating ancient forests and hunting a tribe of kobolds — all while building real Spanish vocabulary week by week.

Week 1 — Greetings and Introductions Week 2 — Formal vs Informal Spanish Week 3 — Numbers 0–100 Week 4 — Days, Months and Time Week 5 — Colors and Descriptions Week 6 — Common Verbs in Context Week 7 — Family and People Week 8 — Places and Directions Week 9 — Food, Body and Survival Vocabulary Week 10 — Adjectives and Descriptions Week 11 — Mixed Vocabulary Review Week 12 — Semester Finale and Showcase

By Week 12 students perform a full Spanish showcase during the final adventure session — demonstrating everything they have learned over the semester. It feels like an epic battle. It is actually an oral language assessment. They will never know the difference.

What’s Included ✔ 12 live 85-minute D&D adventure sessions ✔ 12 pre-recorded weekly video lessons ✔ 12 student workbooks ✔ Quick reference vocabulary card ✔ End of semester showcase performance ✔ Native Spanish-speaking Dungeon Master every session

Why It Works

Language learning research is clear — contextual, interest-based learning produces dramatically better retention than traditional classroom instruction. When your child needs to greet a goblin in Spanish, count their gold pieces out loud, or describe a dragon before they can roll to fight it — the language sticks in a way no traditional class ever could. The workbook builds the vocabulary. The video introduces it. The adventure makes it unforgettable.

Dragon Academy keeps class sizes small — never more than 6 students — so every adventurer gets individual attention from their Dungeon Master and a real voice in the story.

Ages 9–15. True beginners welcome. No Spanish experience required. All you need is a love of adventure.

The Adventurer’s Code

By enrolling in this class you agree to the Adventurer’s Code. This is a cooperative RPG — success is not determined by an individual feat but by the group as a whole. Any rule breaking may result in a learner being placed in the waiting room to reread the code.
